<image:title>Event Day - The Event Day</image:title>
<image:caption>Wheels role at 9:30am, please be there by 9:15 at the latest, at 9:25 we will have a short brief. It will be a group start and we’ll ride from the Library car park in Lomma. Its a 2 minute ride to the traffic light that’s the start line. Before the start you’ll be given a sticker to put on your frame that will have all the directions you need. If you dont have a bike computer or odometer we suggest you get one. As soon as we leave the car park the adventure begins and its you against the elements. There will be a Fika stop or 2 along the course and we will update this closer to the time, it’ll contain water, coffee, cinnamon buns and bananas. They are run by volunteers and will have a limited supply, as we have stated this is an event where you are alone out there so use the fika stops as a rest point but dont rely on them as a refueling point, we aim to make sure you are covered but you never know! Once you cross the finish line either head to your car/train/home or head to Kajgatan 34 (yes, that’s the restaurant’s name…believe or not and the address) where we will have some warm food and talk war stories (we do not cover the food cost). Pack a quick change of clothes for the meal. Its not formal and come and go as you please. In the evening around 20:00 we the organizers (we promised we’ll be showered) will head to a bar in Malmö to talk war stories over a beer or two, more information on this will be announced before the start.</image:caption>

<image:title>Course - Giro d’Lund Course</image:title>
<image:caption>This is a road race, no gravel asphalt only. 121km & 781m vertical. The race will start and end in Lomma, the start line is just North of Lomma and the finish line is the bridge under the road as you enter Lomma. Its a lovely course, starting in Lomma and running along the coast to Bjärred. After Bjärred we head inland and head around the top of Lund, the first section is a mixture of small quaint towns and scenic farmland. Just before Kävlinge we turn into some rolling hills, old farmhouses and the stunning Svenstorp Castle (built by the Danes in 1596). Soon after Svenstorp we head into the Södra Sandby/Dalby area with the infamous Dalby hill (the first of the only 2 climbs in the race). The Dalby hill will be for the KoM classification, in order to be eligible for this you’ll have to record your ride on strava and we will compare the segment “Dalbyvägen”, fastest time on that section will be the KoM for that year! After the decent down the otherside of Dalby hill we will head towards Genarp and the Häckeberga Nature reserve, the nature reserve is hilly and contains the second climb of the race. The Nature reserve is a beautiful woodland and home to the famous Häckeberga Slott, a nice spot for a photo if you're warm enough. After the Häckeberga loop we'll head towards the coast on the way we'll head through Bokskogen and past the final castle of the day Torups Slott, a few small rolling hills through Swedens only remaining Beech Forest and back into some of that lovely Skåne farmland. We head North now to Hjärup (home of one of the event organisers) once through Hjärup we are into the final few KMs, heading straight for the coast, Lomma and a hot meal. The finish line is under the highway bridge. Don’t race beyond this point, take it easy.</image:caption>

<image:title>Rules - Giro d’Lund Rules</image:title>
<image:caption>This is a group participation event. There is no winner, no second place and no one comes last. We do however have a pink jersey for the fastest man and woman to cross the finish line. The holder of the jersey is encouraged to come back again next year to reclaim it! Prize: There is no prize as this is a participation event not a race. We also believe that if you’re willing to do 121km around Skåne on a bike in November you’re already a winner (and a bit mad). Participation is at your own risk, helmets must be used and normal traffic rules apply to all participants. You are on your own on the course baring the fika stops there is no support from the organizers. Other: We recommend you bring your own water and some food, especially if the fika stops are not to your liking or they dont have enough to keep you warm. Dress warm, prepare for the weather (rain and wind). Take your phone with you and any equipment you may need to fix a puncture. Watch out for leaves and grit on the roads especially in turns. Do not litter, its a beautiful route and we hope to keep it that way. There is no back up for this race, if you need to withdraw please use the wonderful Skånetrafiken services to get home, all yellow buses will take bikes.</image:caption>
